Red Cedar River

Friday, we took five little girls on a little "explore." We walked to the Red Cedar River near our friends' home. The girls all threw sticks in the water and watched them float downstream. "Pooh Sticks!"- only there was no footbridge involved to drop them off. Throwing worked just fine!

It was cold enough for winter coats and boots, but warm enough to forgo mittens. This made gathering sticks much easier!

(Okay, one child wanted to wear her gloves.)

It was lovely! We all got muddy.

Doesn't look like the middle of February...

The path home :) ...and nobody fell in!
