Pumpkin Patch

Mackinac Island's preschoolers had a field trip to the pumpkin patch today! We started out with a hay ride (tractor powered!)

It is the first year for this St. Ignace pumpkin patch. It is off US-2 on Martin Lake Rd (where the Mystery Spot is).

Because it's in St. Ignace, it didn't have to be a full-day event. Big sister was able to tag along without missing kindergarten!

Cool cows!

The fall colors are stunning!

Sisters!

There was no second guessing; this large pumpkin was chosen by my five year old! I carried it from Star Line to Arnold Line when we returned to the island. It weighs 23.5 lbs. My word.

My three year old looked all over the patch for her perfect pumpkin.

She found it!

She says it's cute!

It was a cold but lovely morning! We'll have to carve pumpkins soon!

Welcoming Fall

Happy fall!

The big change in our household has been school. We had one start kindergarten the day after Labor Day!

And little sister started preschool last week!

Funny thing- preschool is in the morning, while kindergarten is in the afternoon, so I do three trips to the school. It's a total of 7.5 miles a school day. I call it involuntary exercise and am thankful there's no hill involved.

Here are fall colors from last week!
