Turtle Park with Friends!

My husband was out of town for two weeks, thus my lapse in posting. The solo parenting tuckered me out- kudos to those who manage that! However, I am returning to my blogging habit :)
We visited Turtle Park one day in Daddy's absence. Fun !

The best surprise was the arrival of some friends! Swinging preschoolers (although both have graduated from preschool since).

Blue skies:

Happy to play together!

Little sister played the part of the monster...

...Which is why they are up!

Swinging:

Glorious!

A sweet helper:

Good friends!

New pavement for the skateboarding park:

The ramps are still pulled aside so the kids took advantage of the "big slide"

Lots of fun!

Turtle Park is on the inner part of the island, as is the airport. A little plane overhead:

Racing:

Dramatic rescues! Imagination is awesome:

On the way home, we pulled off the trail to make room for this team:

It's nice to see the fort active again!

After some good outside play, we worked together on a puzzle. To my husband's delight, my girls enjoy superheroes:

The island is active and wonderful! I have many pictures to share so it should be easy for me to blog away once more!

Smooth Waters and Mission Point Tulip

On the ferry and heading home!

There goes the Ottawa! (which we rode for the first time last weekend)

The Grand Hotel is open:

The waters of Lake Huron were so still:

Cormorants (not a bird species native to the area and they eat enough to harm fishing business)

Lovely Mackinac Island:

Pulling in to the dock:

We got to school early, so enjoyed the view of Lake Huron and the Mackinac Bridge:

My happy two and a half year old:

Ripples from ferry that recently passed:

God spoils us! What a beautiful world!

The new paint color looks nice!

Mission Point Resort!

The adirondack chairs are out! Definite sign of the summer season!

The tulips became more brilliantly colored since I saw them last:

So many tulips!

It's not everyday that the waters are so still:

Stunning!

View from Mackinac Island Public School's playground (we stayed and played for over an hour after school. Lots of other families did the same and it was nice to have some good conversations!)

The Mackinac Bridge:

The trees have spring green buds:

This was our last bike ride like this. Downtown is getting too busy for my new little cyclist and her training wheels.

Protecting her shell ;) with a Mackinac Island Bicycle helmet! I believe you can buy your own for $30. There was a grant that gave each child at the school their own helmet- thank you Mackinac Island Community Foundation!

"There's finally chairs out there again!!!" she said as we passed the lawn. Even a five year old can recognize the time the tourist season returns! :)

I'm loving the tulips!
